Optimal Comfort and Tension Maintenance

Gold is built with a sophisticated thermal-bonding process that joins an elastic polyester multifilament core to polyamide fibres. This advanced construction gives it solidity and control properties typical of monofilaments, while keeping the comfort and elasticity of multifilaments.

The manufacturing processes

01

Pre-Stretch

Thanks to the "pre-stretch" of the core, the entire string minimises tension loss while at the same time allowing a lower stringing tension.

02

Liquid Wax

The string is finished with a layer of wax. This treatment significantly extends its lifespan by reducing wear and making stringing easier.

03

Power Ribbons

We use “polypropylene” and “polyamide” ribbons wound in several layers of thickness so that they overlap and are diametrically opposed, thus simulating the structure of a “natural gut” string.

04

Braided Core

Thanks to the “braided core” we achieve uniform elasticity and high strength.

Versatile Performance on Court

On court, Gold stands out for its versatility. In a full-bed setup it offers a solid impact that instils confidence in every shot. In a hybrid setup, its smooth texture and responsiveness generate unusual spin for a multifilament, with a dynamic response to the ball. Power is manageable, letting you meter force with precision. Despite its robustness, Gold offers remarkable comfort, absorbing vibrations and protecting the arm.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about String Project Gold

What is String Project Gold?

String Project Gold is a multifilament tennis string built with a sophisticated thermal-bonding process. It offers solidity and control (8/10) that are surprising for a multifilament, with Arm Friendly® comfort (9/10) and top-of-the-range resilience (10/10).

What is the difference between Gold and a monofilament?

Gold is a multifilament that, thanks to its thermal-bonding construction with a braided core and Power Ribbons, offers solidity and control close to a monofilament. Compared to monos, it guarantees superior comfort (9/10) and a softer feel, while keeping surprisingly direct playing properties.

At what tension should String Project Gold be strung?

The recommended tension range is between 18 and 23 kg. Thanks to the Pre-Stretch of the core, Gold minimises tension loss, letting you work even at lower tensions while keeping control.

Which gauges is String Project Gold available in?

Gold is available in two gauges: 1.25 mm (16L) for greater sensitivity and spin, and 1.30 mm (16) for greater durability and control.

Is String Project Gold suitable for players with arm problems?

Absolutely. Gold is Arm Friendly® certified with 9/10 comfort, one of the highest in the range. Its multifilament construction naturally absorbs vibrations, protecting the arm even during extended sessions.

Is String Project Gold suitable as a hybrid setup?

Yes, Gold is very versatile in a hybrid setup. Paired with a monofilament, its smooth texture and responsiveness generate unusual spin for a multifilament, with a dynamic response to the ball.
